What is CAPF?
CAPF(Central Armed Police Forces ) is a competitive exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) every year to recruit candidates in seven security forces of India. The candidates recruited through this exam, join the forces as Assistant Commandant (AC).

Which forces recruit through CAPF AC Exam?
CAPF AC exam refers to the seven security forces under the Ministry of Home Affairs. These are:
Assam Rifles(AR)
Central Reserve Police Force(CRPF)
Border Security Force(BSF)
Central Industrial Security Force(CISF)
National Security Guard(NSF)
Indo-Tibetan Borde Police(ITBP)
Sahastra Seema Bal(SSB)

What is the Eligibility Criteria For the CAPF AC exam?
The applicant must be An Indian National.
Candidates from Nepal, Bhutan can also apply in some cases.
Both Male & Females can Apply.
Age- The applicant must be between 20-25 years. However relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST & other reserved categories.

Is Assistant Commandant a gazetted officer?
Yes.

Exam Pattern Of CAPF Exam?

This exam is conducted in three stages.
Stage 1: Written Exam(450 marks)
Paper-I – General and Mental Ability: 250 Marks, Duration: 2 hours
Paper-II- General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension: 200 marks, Duration: 3 hours
Stage 2:
Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests.
Stage 3:
Interview/ Personality test (150 marks).
